The Winter Weather Advisory for Middle Tennessee expired at 9 a.m. The threat of a messy morning commute caused more than 100 schools across the area to close, including Metro Nashville.
So far, no major issues have been reported on roads. However, there may be some slick spots on bridges and overpasses.
About 25 Tennessee Department of Transportation crews have been monitoring road conditions. Each truck can carry 7-9 tons of salt, depending on the size of the truck.
